Ostrom Workshop Visiting Fellows Program
Why?
The Ostrom Workshop is building upon our successful Visiting Scholars program with an additional avenue to get more active in the Workshop community. In particular, the Ostrom Workshop will be recruiting six (6) total visiting fellows for the ’25-26 AY. Three (3) of these visiting fellows will be focused on environmental governance, and the other three (3) will be active in technology governance research and practice. These fellows will be co-located and be in residence at the Workshop concurrently to maximize collaborative opportunities between them, along with the other visiting scholars, postdocs, Program Directors, and faculty affiliates.
Who?
This opportunity is open to research-active faculty members, early-career scholars, practitioners, and policymakers.
When?
The deadline for submitting your application is March X, 2025. The term of residence for technology governance and environmental governance visiting fellows is September-December 2025.
Clarification
The Visiting Fellow program will not supplant the existing Visiting Scholar Program. The Ostrom Workshop will still be accepting nominations from all Workshop Affiliates to invite exceptional non-IU colleagues as Visiting Scholars/Practitioners to undertake research and participate in and enrich the research life of the Workshop. The purpose of the program is to facilitate collaborations among IU-based and non-IU based faculty, researchers, and graduate students leading to high-profile publications and grant submissions.
