Stephanie Wells is the President of the Indiana Fiscal Policy Institute (since 2022) and the Principal and Founder of Wells Strategy + Solutions. The Indiana Fiscal Policy Institute is a private, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) governmental research organization, and is the only independent source of continuing research into the effect of taxing policies and spending practices in Indiana. Wells Strategy + Solutions provides strategic consulting solutions for nonprofit, government, and private industry clients.
Prior to founding Wells Strategy + Solutions in 2019, Stephanie Wells was the Vice President of Workforce Development for the Indiana Manufacturers Association. Previously, Stephanie worked as a Senior Fiscal Analyst for the Indiana Legislative Services Agency. She served in various roles at the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority, where she oversaw the creation of the Indiana Foreclosure Prevention Network and the Hardest Hit Fund, a $220 million federal initiative to assist troubled homeowners stay in their homes during the worst years of the Great Recession. She has also held positions at the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, the Office of Governor Mitch Daniels, Ice Miller, Indiana University Public Policy Institute, and Holliday Fenoglio Fowler (HFF).
In total, Stephanie has over 21 years of research and analysis, public affairs, and policy experience in the areas of economic development, workforce, housing, and community development.
Stephanie is a proud graduate of the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs, both for her undergraduate and graduate degrees, where she specialized in public management and policy analysis.
In addition to her role on the Ostrom Workshop’s External Advisory Board, Stephanie is also an economic advisor on Purdue Manufacturing Extension Partnership’s Board of Advisors.
