I’m a PhD candidate from Masaryk university in the Czech Republic. In my work, I’m building on the network extensions of the Institutional Analysis and Development (IAD) framework and its integration with Social Network Analysis (SNA) methods. The combined analytical framework is further tested with empirical applications on the governance of agro-commodity value chains and social-ecological systems. For my stay at the Ostrom Workshop, I will work on the network analysis of interlinked social-ecological action situations in studying the Austrian Danube River governance over time. The proposed interdisciplinary research draws on social and ecological network analysis and power theory. We are especially interested in examining relationships between network structures and functions of complex social-ecological systems and revealing different forms of power relations and dynamics in environmental governance.
