From Dean Lueck, Director of the Natural Resources Governance Program
Welcome to the Ostrom Workshop Newsletter. For this issue we update you on the program on Natural Resource Governance. In the Fall, we hosted several colloquium speakers. Richard Geddes (Cornell University) and Paul Rhode (University of Michigan), and also the second Symposium on Natural Resource Governance for Young Scholars. Recently we have received word (and a check) from the Searle Freedom Trust that they will fund the symposium for another year. While many real events have been substituted for virtual events during the Covid19 crisis, we are anticipating the symposium will be hosted again by the Workshop in November. One casualty of Covid19 was the Annual Ostrom Lecture on Environmental Policy which was to be given by Peter Kareiva (UCLA Institute of Environment and Sustainability) on April 15th. We hope to reschedule Professor Kareiva for spring 2021. For more information on the program, visit the Natural Resource Governance webpage.

    Opportunities
    Working Groups
For many years, the Workshop has facilitated the establishment of self-organized working groups. Topics covered vary from year to year. Most groups are mechanisms enabling people who share common interests to discuss their current research and benefit from each other's commentary and criticism. For more information on working groups and to view current working groups, please visit our website.
    Affiliates
Active scholars at Indiana University and in other settings who have an interest in research being done at the Ostrom Workshop are welcome to apply to be a Workshop Affiliate.

The Ostrom Workshop has developed an international reputation for innovative research related to institutional analysis and common-pool resource governance. As we build on that legacy and focus on governance, we seek to expand and strengthen affiliations with scholars from a broad range of disciplines. Find out more.
